Wage subsidy measure
Opening Doors to Employment
Are you having difficulty entering the labour market? If you are eligible for the Wage Subsidy measure, you can:
- acquire an advantage in finding a good job;
or - get work experience, increase your self-reliance and develop skills that will help you secure long-term employment.
You are eligible if
- you receive Employment Insurance benefits;
- you receive employment-assistance benefits;
- you are unemployed and do not receive public income support
Duration of assistance
Generally up to 30 weeks, but can be extended to 52 weeks if needed.
If you are eligible for the Wage Subsidy measure
You must meet with an employment services officer at your local employment centre (CLE) to determine the best way to help you find work.
