Opening doors to employment
Are you having trouble entering the job market? If you are eligible for the Wage Subsidy measure, you can:
- gain an asset for finding work you like;
or - get work experience, become more self-sufficient and develop skills that will help you find lasting employment.
Who is eligible for the Wage Subsidy measure?
- Employment Insurance recipients.
- Persons receiving benefits under a last-resort financial assistance program.
- Unemployed persons who do not receive government income support.
Duration of assistance
Generally up to 30 weeks, but can be extended to 52 weeks if needed.
How to apply
You must meet with an assistance officer at your local employment centre (CLE) to determine the best way to help you find a job.
