Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT)

The Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT) is a Québec consensus-building body composed of representatives from business, labour, the academic community, and community and government organizations dedicated to improving labour market efficiency.

Among other mandates, the CPMT defines, in conjunction with the Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, the strategic directions of Emploi-Québec’s public employment services. It is also involved in decisions concerning the management of Emploi-Québec, notably adoption of Emploi-Québec’s action plans (Québec-wide and regional).

The CPMT is also responsible for:

  • enforcing regulations under the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition;
  • administering the Workforce Skills Development and Recognition Fund and its grant programs;
  • carrying out mandates related to sector-based action and the framework governing relations with the sectoral workforce committees;
  • implementing the workforce skills development and recognition framework.
